As a filmmaker who straddles the worlds of digital cinema and traditional film, I recently had the opportunity to work as a cameraman for the PSG Japan Tour in Osaka. The experience was both exhilarating and challenging, pushing my skills to the limit while offering a unique perspective on the world of professional football.
The project involved capturing the energy and excitement of the tour, from the players’ meet-and-greet sessions to their intense training routines. The footage I shot was used to create a behind-the-scenes video of the tour, showcasing not only the skill and dedication of the players, but also the passion and enthusiasm of the fans.
Working on this project allowed me to fully utilise my digital cinematography skills, from adjusting the colour and contrast of the shots to capturing gimbal-tracking sequences. The result is a dynamic and engaging video that puts the viewer right at the heart of the action.
One of the highlights of the project was the opportunity to work with local artists and fans. This added a unique cultural dimension to the video, reflecting the vibrant local scene in Osaka and the strong connection between the players and their fans.
This project was a testament to the power of digital cinema to capture the energy and excitement of live events. It also demonstrated my ability to adapt to different shooting conditions and deliver high quality footage that meets the client’s needs.
I invite you to watch the video here and experience the excitement of PSG’s Japan tour in Osaka for yourself.
